Grammar Year One – Montessori Program

Designed for children ages 5–9 who are already strong word readers, our Grammar Year One program introduces a love of language through hands-on, Montessori-inspired activities.

Students begin with the story of the alphabet, a rich tale of human communication. Then go on to explore word study, including suffixes, prefixes, root words, compound words, and word families. They move on to their first grammar box, diving deep into nouns and articles, and begin lessons in adjectives.

While the program does not include a formal spelling curriculum, it provides guidance and recommended resources for approaching spelling with confidence. Children also explore different book genres to see language in context.

All materials are provided as easy-to-use PDFs, just print and cut! By the end of the Montessori Grammar Elementary Program, children gain a strong foundation in grammar, reading, writing, and communication skills.
